Hot August Nights

Here we are sitting in the hot sun in Reno, Nevada amongst my second love "Hot Rids".  Beautiful cars coming and going all day. Will I get a new engine for my pickup??  We'll see.

Here are two of the projects I'm stitching on the road to Hot August Nights in Reno.  The Joy is a new pattern by All Through The Night and the truck is a new  series of patterns by Buttermilk Basin.

I love this quilt. Made by Diane Quick from a kit. Reminds me of Jannilou's Quilt Shop. 

Town Square.

This has been a popular pattern. Patti Raney did this in king size for a gift. Wish I was the one to get it.  Way to go Patti.

 

Triangles Triangles Triangles

This quilt is done by Pam Peterson. Simple half-square triangles. But the quilting makes the quilt. Gives it more interest. I might have to do this one.

everyone she had. It's a great pattern to highlight your favorite collection. 

My Sampler Block Shuffle

Sorry this is so late but I did have it done (at least the top finished) by February 1st. I finished it at our Winter Retreat. I had another person working on there's also. Peggy Jo set hers the traditional way with sashing and cornerstones. Remember Quilters Choice.

Everyone is here and getting settled in for four days of quilting. We had a wonderful meal prepared by Paul and Chris. They are the best. More later. 

MODA - Sampler Block Shuffle - Week 11

Here is the last of blocks (an applique one) and the finishing instructions according to the MODA designer.  I love the stripey way it is set.  You don't like it?  Then you can choose your own setting.  Or make more blocks and make it bigger.  Remember "Quilter's Choice".  I hope to have my quilt done by February 1st.  I have all of you to help me be accountable.

 I'm trying to get a Block-of-the-Month quilt done so I can have it to hang at camp.  You don't know what camp is?  Something To Crow About hosts 40 quilters twice a year for four days at the McKenzie River Mountain Resort in Blue River, Oregon.  We've been doing this for about 15 years.  Everyone has a fabulous time with lots of quilting.  If you are interested, give us a call and we will give you all the details so you might be able to join us at a future camp.

Quick Start Quilting Class

Just took Kim Rathbun's quilt off the machine. She took Something to Crow Abouts Quick Start Quilting class. A new class is starting on January 12th. Give us a call for details if you are interested. 

MODA -Sampler Block Shuffle - Week 10

Three more blocks to add to your pile.  One more block and finishing instructions to go.  As you will see, I changed the piecing of one of the blocks shown.  A great way to add a different block with the same cutting instructions.  Change the background (either light or dark).  Or maybe using more than one background in one block.  What about star points in?  Or out?  For me it's always "Quilter's Choice".  Make it your own by changing a few things.  Some quilters change just a few things and other change a lot of things.  Use you favorite fabric in every block or just a few.  Whatever works for you.  Enjoy,  Kennette

MODA-Sampler Block Shuffle - Week 9

Are you keeping up with all the blocks?  I love the small size.  They are easy to do and it doesn't take too much time.  This week I needed the time.  My Mom ended up in the hospital and my time isn't my own.  So I'm thankful for the holidays and thankful for the few blocks.  There are only a few more posts for blocks.  You will get a total of 30 blocks.  Only one more applique block is scheduled.  Are you excited about what your finished quilt will look like.  It's a little different and I like it.  Are you curious yet???
